Abstract

The range of human development in the world is vast and uneven. Balance and stability in the world will require the commitment of all nations and a global development compact to extend the wealth of possibilities to all. The central part of this Report identifies where the greatest problems are, analysing the actions needed to reverse these setbacks and offering concrete proposals on how to accelerate progress everywhere towards achieving all the Goals. In doing so, it provides a persuasive argument for why, even in the poorest countries, there is still hope that the Goals can be met.
