Abstract

The video and the case study published here present a project implemented by Swadhina with the support of the International Land Coalition covering 10 villages in West Midnapore District, West Bengal, and involving women belonging to the backward section of the tribal society. The main aim of the project was developing strong socio-legal awareness on land-rights and a sense of gender justice among 300 women from tribal and under-developed rural families. The achievements of the project are discussed through the life stories of some of the women involved.
